Fodder

I stay still, soaked in the rains,

My pupils freeze, peas and thin ice;

Daggers nail my splintered feet

Tangled roots sprout on mud.

When nature steps away

The curtain tears away too;

Death steps into light;

Earth feeds on flesh.

We are but proxies,

To the forests thinned out,

To the bees disappeared,

To the cultures destroyed

Do you hear the harvest bells toll

Stay...

No way out of these walls

Stay...

Pay the price

Seeds of new earth

Pay the price

Fall to rise
