Aug'17- 2 Muslim men lynched for transporting cattle 


24 Muslims lynched, 124 attacked
In Hindutva we trust, proclaim their tweets
Protesters murdered, Farmers shot
Just another hill of discarded meat

Media is dead
Bought or bled
They gouged their eyes out
but gave them a new mouth
Slipped on with no teeth and they all look the same
Reasons aplenty when the weak leads
Roars are pitch-corrected to friendly bleats

500 people died in flood, we cry
The sin against the Cow, they say
Rupee at an all time low
They laugh
Congress in 1947 caused the fall

We close our windows
Keep blood out the doors
It stinks still
The flies buzz around

They walk with sickles in hand
Pied Pipers lay claim to our land
Become a zombie or pretend to be one
Don't talk, don't see, don't feel

And, yet
Heroes rise
To pay the price
With Love
With Life

They fall with a smile
They are crushed into divine light
We feel
We see
Crimson clouds everywhere!
It thunders
It rains


The windows break
Illusions melt
Sound of freedom reverberates
Another day, Another dawn
Here for Freedom, Here for us!

Christianity and the Homosexuality issue

     This is something that has been in my mind lately. More so because of how the fundamentalist and evangelical churches point at Homosexuals as the culprits for any disaster - natural or otherwise. If there is a hurricane, prominent preachers don't waste any time in accusing them as the cause of God's wrath. There is much outcry against Homosexual marriages. As a practising Christian, this disturbs me a lot. If we have to go by the Jesus Christ portrayed in the Bible, I am sure that if he were to walk as a human in this century, he wouldn't refuse a party invitation from them.  All creation is beautiful. If someone is created that way, perhaps there is a reason to it as Christ rightly said in Matt 19  "For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake" It's funny ...

To the operation theatre and back

There are times when we understand the gravity of a situation without letting emotions cloud our judgement. It helps maintain our objectivity to support a friend. Rarely, that someone is you and that moment makes you an observer too. This also showed me what authentic leadership is. I had a presentation to the Global CEO Ben Verwayen. My reporting manager is Vishy Poosala, the CTO of Alcatel-Lucent Messaging and Head of Bell Labs. I asked him to present and he chose to cancel it because he wanted me to take the credit for my work.  We visited Dr. Disha Sridhar at Motherhood, Bangalore with a positive on the urine pregnancy test on 6th Oct. We made plans to manage the pregnancy. Since  the ultrasound slots were full at the hospital, we got the TVS done in the nearby test centre Clumax. Pride-Is the culprit over confidence?

Have you faced people who suck the energy out of you with long winding tales about themselves? Have you wondered at times how a person can have so much pride? I don’t subscribe to the theory that overconfidence is the culprit for this “I am THE ultimate gift to the world” attitude. It is an inadequate sense of self esteem that actually sows the seeds of pride. A healthy self esteem respects others notwithstanding differing ideologies. There are times I have caught myself talking about some one else and then realize that the root cause was actually a kind of doubt on myself. When you work on having a healthy self esteem you stop all comparisons and understand that right and wrong is all about standards. And this standard differs person to person. An ingrained feeling of inadequacy is defended by a false pride. This is not a natural emotion and hence gets across viciously through a swish of negative energy.
